The Roughley Manor is a beautiful old homestead property, and one of the finest homes in the area. The Manor is located on 25 secluded acres, nestled within a setting of old Washingtonia palms and cypress trees.  Completed in 1928, the house is constructed of native stone with Vermont maple flooring throughout. The house is three stories tall with five bedrooms and three bathrooms. There are five fireplaces throughout the Manor, including one in each of the two largest bedrooms. There is a great room that is 22' x 50' that is furnished in a manner that invites lounging on the comfortable couches in front of the fireplace or scheduling a dinner party for a minimum of 15 people. The manor is furnished with old antiques, soft sheets, cozy bath robes and offers a full breakfast in the morning. Hostess Jan Peters is an exceptional cook and offers an exquisite quiche or stuffed french toast for your dining enjoyment.

The Manor has a wonderful history. It was once owned by Allie Wrubel, a famous song-writer whose song hits such as "The Lady from Twentynine Palms" helped the Andrew Sisters attain a gold record, but he is also known as the composer of such hits as "Music, Maestro, Please," "The Lady in Red," and "Farewell to Arms". There is a hooked rug in the great room which is over 95 years old, and was presented to Allie Wrubel by Fannie Bryce (Baby Snooks).

The house is beautifully decorated by Jan Peters. Each of the five bedrooms provides the guest with a relaxing mood that won't soon be forgotten. Two of the bedrooms have fireplaces, with one furnished with a king size bed and the other with a queen canopy bed. The remaining three rooms are furnished with twin beds, a queen size bed and one with a full size bed.

The Roughley Manor is depicted in the newest Twentynine Palms mural located on the highway in Twentynine Palms. The mural reflects Bill and Elizabeth Campbell, the builders of the house along with a painting of the house. The Roughley Manor is located less than two miles from the Joshua Tree National Park Visitors Center and only four miles from the east entrance to the park.
